Well, there was this girl\u2026<br \/>\nGlass turning from a craft into an art.<br \/>\nA hobby has a whole subculture, and within it superstars.<br \/>\nGregg&#8217;s father was all about security.<br \/>\nNot wanting to bring in money from creative endeavors.<br \/>\nNot trying to accumulate laurels any more. You have to have laurels to rest upon them.<br \/>\nWhen I&#8217;m finished with something, I&#8217;m not interested in it anymore.<br \/>\nEverything springs from itself\u2026 everything&#8217;s connected.<br \/>\nI want to be as good on my best day as the best are on their worst day.<br \/>\nDoing something under your own name versus using a pseudonym.<br \/>\nSometimes the audience doesn&#8217;t understand.<br \/>\nIf something ends up as a &#8220;product&#8221; that&#8217;s great, but I create as a bodily function.<br \/>\nGregg: I don&#8217;t want to look like the guy who thinks he&#8217;s a genius.<br \/>\nLuke: Hmmm, maybe I sometimes come across as that guy.<br \/>\nGeneralists.<br \/>\nIs there a box for me?<br \/>\nThere are examples of generalists, but few and far between. Like Buckminster Fuller.<br \/>\nGeneralists in a specific medium transcend the medium.<br \/>\nSpecialist is best for most people, as generalists will probably never have as much knowledge as the specialist in any one area.<br \/>\nLuke uses his generalist attitude to stand out.<br \/>\nGregg hides his generalist attitude to make cocktail parties easier to bear.<br \/>\nAnd he always uses another name.<br \/>\nGregg doesn&#8217;t want to be known as the poet\/musician who is a really crappy musician and a really crappy poet.<br \/>\nLuke is happy to be pretty average across the board.<br \/>\nArt is when you learn a craft so much you come out the other side.<br \/>\nMusicians seem to think they are being paid by the note.<br \/>\nHas Gregg set Luke a challenge?<br \/>\nCross pollination of skills and the leverage of audiences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gregg Margarite is creative in many different fields, and so am I.
