A video arrived in the post this morning. I put it on and watched people juggling lots of stuff. It was all quite depressing really. Everyone I see seems to be better at me. Juggling, that is.

I felt I might give up. I wasn’t sure if there was enough room in the family for two really good jugglers and I thought my cousin was earning that title quickly enough. He came around today and asked me if I would show him how to “Do Seven”. I said I wasn’t that good at seven, only about 20 catches, so I sat him down in front of the TV and told him to watch the video.

I went upstairs and cried on my bed and wondered if anyone would come in and comfort me but my sister was at work and Carol wouldn’t have understood if she had been with me. So I just sat there listened to my cousin down stairs. He’d pause the video, pick up some beanbags, try a trick he’d just seen, sit down, press play, pause the video, pick up some beanbags, try a trick he’d just seen, sit down, press play, pause the video, pick up some beanbags, try a trick he’d just seen, sit down, press play.

I climbed out of my window and went for a walk to avoid him for the rest of the day but when I arrived home a few hours later I found him playing with my new clubs. I asked him what the hell he was doing and he replied “744”. I told him to stop lying and tell the truth. He said he was telling the truth, showed me 744 with clubs and left.

Ah well.

I fed Rennie, took him outside and let him fly. He launched himself into the air but after flying in a circle came down to land on my hand again for some more food. I think he’s just greedy and wants to stay in the warm again tonight. He’s now back in the shoe box in the kitchen.

I’ve decided to add a new model to my range. Mindhurst. I know he’s not famous yet but I thought I’d better make a model of my cousin. I finished my Gatto model. Instead of the eleven ring flash with a head bounce I’ve made a miniature of that big Wile E. Coyote that he used to catch rings on his head with. I stuck it to the forehead of the model. The problem now is that I’m not sure it really does justice to his talents.

I’m starting to think that juggling figures aren’t such a good idea because I’ve still not managed to make one that isn’t in a non juggling pose.

Ah well.
