Here is a list of all the photos in this gallery. You'll know what to do.

All photos on this and other pages are owned by me (Luke Burrage) and that means they're mine. I got the ©.
If you want to use these photos in any way email me and it'll be fine, as long as you're not making money from them or anything. And I get credited for them.

Well, here we go...

The ceilidh

the band.
Unicyclists dancing.
Dancers dancing.

Drumming workshop on thursday afternoon.
Diabolo linking with Brian.
"Mills Mess How To" workshop with Ewan.
Advanced site swap with Ben Beever
Ball spinning with Winston
Club swinging with Nigel.
Be a bondage master with Peter
Cigar boxes. I'm not sure who lead this one. I was only there because I fell asleep on the mats in that squash court and these guys woke me up.
Acro stuff. Agian, I'm not sure who lead this one.
Balloon modeling with Dave Jellybean.
Left and right club passing with Tarim & Mandy.

The Fire Show

Burning things on sticks.
Burning things in mouth.

The Show

This was a little bit of the que to get into the main show. It sort of snaked around for about 8 miles with mexican waves running up and down it...
The rable inside. Someone had very kindly provided a whole load of streamers, hooters, hats, balloons and stuff left over from the millenium. It got a bit noisy. Well, what do you expect.

Everyone who appeared on stage came back on at the end to a rapturous appause...

Thursday Renegade.

This was our compere for the evening, Chris Something.
Robin Gunny's 3 ball routine.
Bendy Dan bending (no homosexual reference intended).
Ross and Errol sing a bit.
Dave from Rotterdam swing fire poi.
This guy did a really weird act. He pranced around saying stuff like "Beware, the claw!". Amusing for a while just because the novelty but it got a bit boring. In the end he was manhandled off the stage.
Alan's finale to his fire routine.
One of the stars of the show... the balloon dog/alien thing.
Dave Kelly from Liverpool.
The dog/alien was brought back on and Peter whipped it to death. That's below murder in my book...
Russel/Ronway (not sure) told a very funny joke about Broadbent Dickinson.
Chris did a very nice 3 strobe ball routine.
I got up and tried out a trick.
Ross and Errol came back on stage to sing a bit...
but after a while everyone decided to give up and head off to the beer tent.

Friday renagade

This was our compere for the evening, Jules Howarth.
Brendon Brolly doing his diabolo stuff.
Liam from St Albans juggling 3 balls.
Big gob Jo span a staff around and threw beakers (pictured).
This guy (called Geordie, i think) continually failed with his diabolo.
Matt juggled glow balls and glow diabolos.
This is "Anthony Gatto" juggling 7 balls (between himself).
"Anthony Gatto" with "Nick Gatto"...
And after downing about 5 pints (between himself)...
... they, um, he, sorry, set a new 9 ring endurance record.
I don't remember much about this act. A french guy told a story with diabolos while Mark And Jo passed a bottle between them.... or something.
Martin from surrey tried to swing poi on a unicycle. He failed.
Geordie with diabolos...
A blending moment.
Jay Gilligan dropping balls on purpose.
Again with scarves and a dog.
Mario did some magic with a racoon and duck.
Bryn did some jugging in the dark. This shot was taken using the "night sight" function on my camcorder so it's a bit blurry.

Saturday Renegade

This was our compere for the evening, Big Grey.
This is Ken and Tina from Tumble Circus. No wait, something's wrong here.
A non-glare photo of the above two.
Sam I Am and another "Nick Gatto". For the first time that evening a plaque was presented to a "coach, mentor and father" like Anthony Gatto in the main show.
Sam juggling 5 footy balls.
Brett knife juggling on a tight rope. Quote of the night "Will you shut the f**k up!" repeat 50 times a minute. Impressive heckle comeback.
Daniel threw a diabolo around.
Jay Gilligan getting weirder and weirder.
Ben Jennings spinning tooth brushes while club balancing. Now that is art.
The Tweedle Dumbs. Acrobatic stuff in fat costumes - instant humour.
The twees (claire and janey) doing something acrobatic.
Luke Wilson 3 club balancing.
A Butch Guy Doing Macho Things.
Rob not actually juggling 3 clubs. He held them a lot though.
Emanuel contact juggling 1 to 8 balls.
Stevie Cheescake and his glamourous assistant threw nothing around. I'm going to have to get some of them thumb lights.
Jamie Fletcher, who appeared in the main show, managed to get onto a 8 foot unicycle and juggled 5 balls (plus other 3 ball tricks).
John Dee managed to stay on the trapeze, considering he was as pissed as a fart it was quite an accomplishment.
Bryn did a thing on stilts and in a costume.

Parade/games

At the start of the parade. This was the band that walked at the front and hit things.
The parade passed York Minster.
The brass band nearer the back of the parade.
This is one of the few shots I got of the games (I seem to have lost the other ones). Gandini Gladiators.
The guy with the red hair won but was the disqualified.

As you see, by this time it had started raining and we all headed back to the buses. The wasn't even a big toss up, if there was, I missed it.

Jugglers

A whole load of people in the main hall.
People throwing things at each other.
Mini juggling on a skateboard. Now officially, skateboards weren't allowed in the main hall...
This would be Leo White free wheeling in the small hall, so that would be legal then.
Some guy (name?) flinging a diabolo round himself on a bit of string.
Fred Someone from France with 2 diabolos.
Owen and Malte, from circomedia, passing over each other's heads.
Now I've never understood this. Why any would want to stand in the middle and have clubs thrown at them is beyond me. This is Kristin, Kristian and Kjersti.
Ben Beaver juggling 9.
This is Josiah Jones, from Elburn Illinois. He must be 15? 16? I wish I could do 5 ball mills mess.
Later on I saw the guy on the left juggling these two little ones. No, really.
Dave Jellybean...
The beer tent. Nice.
Hat stuff.
This is Norman Bush making lassoos out side. With Dennis the Menace.
I'm not at all sure what these people are doing.
This would have been in the small hall when Anthony Gatto was prcticing on friday. Or maybe saturday now I think of it.
Hmmmmm...

Another shot of the main hall.
Me (luke) on a tight wire in the small hall.
Again, people throwing things at each other.
This is what (part of) the traders hall looked like.
This is Christian Parr (i think), um, juggling.
Lena Köhn from Braunschweig, Germany, was juggling 3 diabolos, as you can see. Well, I thought it was impressive.
On friday evening a film crew turned up.
I'm not sure where from, mind you. Here they are filming Chris LaReau from Urbana, Illinois, doing backcrosses with a head balance.

Bryn Davies juggling in the main hall.
Peter and Mr Fletcher (jamies Dad) head bouncing in the main hall.
PAssed imPErfect
Company of Fools on impressive 6 foot stilts.

Anthony Gatto -

Balls

Juggling 5 balls over his head, with a head bounce.
Juggling 6 balls with a head bonce
Juggling 7 balls over his head.
Anthony gets ready to juggle 8 balls with a head bounce. This picture my look like he's balancing the ball, but he's not. He did though, but I'm not sure I've got a photo of it.
This is a photo of Anthony juggling 7 balls, part way through a trick. What he did was throw one ball high and behind him, juggled 6 for a bit, let the 7th ball drop and bounce, reach back to catch it and keep juggling.
Juggling 9 balls. He kept this up for 112 throws, which I thought quite impressive. I counted them cos I'm sad.
9 balls with a head bounce. He ended by throwing all the balls to his father, Nick, who caught them all in his net.

Rings

7 rings with a head bounce.
5 rings but these sort of seem to be going in the wrong direction. Hmmmm....
< 7 rings with a head bounce.
8 rings.
9 rings with a head bounce, finished by pulling all the rings down over his head, past the bouncing ball.
Like this. Just 3 to go.
It's obviously very hard to hold over 5 rings in each hand and start to juggle (I've never even tried it). Nick and Anthony have come up with the solution.
11 rings with a pole balance.
11 ring pull downs.
Get ready for 12...
Not really the time for flash photography, is it?
Anthony and Nick.
12 rings!
Again, just grabbing the 12th ring from it's holder.

Clubs

4 clubs above the head.
4 clubs with a head bounce.
4 clubs with a head bounce and spinning a club across your forehead must be pretty hard, Anthony only did it once.
6 clubs.
Anthony and Nick getting ready to juggle 6 with a head bounce.
7 clubs.
7 clubs with a head bounce.
Juggling 7 clubs and throwing one between the legs must be hard as well cos he only did this once too.
Anthony and Nick made quite a few attempts at juggling 6 and throwing in a 7th. I don't think they actually manage it though.
7 club back crosses!
Resting after the practice session.
