Young Zebras: Is a young zebra called a colt? No idea. I just know they are super cute.

Zebras in Tanzania

Zebras: Of course, in the Serengeti itself we saw so many zebras we soon got bored of them. That didn't stop me trying to take interesting photos.

Zebras: Zebras often hang out in pairs, theoretically to confuse lions.

Wildebeast and Zebra

Wildebeast and Zebra: Zebras and wildebeasts have a symbiotic relationship. Wildebeast can smell water, and zebras can smell lions. Maybe it is the other way around. Either way, together they survive longer than single species herds. I took this photo in the Ngorongoro Crater.

Giraffe and Zebra

Giraffe and Zebra: This is one of my favourite photos from the trip. While driving through the Mikumi National Park (along a busy road) our truck startled a giraffe, and it took a run. I snapped some photos, following it with my camera, and then I noticed it would pass behind this zebra. I was pleased that I timed the shot almost perfectly, as each of the giraffe, zebra and truck were moving.

Giraffes

Giraffes: On the way from Arusha to the Serengeti, we spotted our first wild giraffes. The driver stopped to let us take photos, even though I suspected that by the end of the trip we wouldn't be bothered about giraffes at all.

Giraffes: Giraffes are so big that when they move, they look like they are running in slow motion. Also they always look diectly at the camera for a photo. I like animals that do that.
